With the pause being lifted at the board meeting last night, we will start Middle school basketball on Monday 1/11/2020. It will look a little different than years past, but the kids will be able to play. This year for middle school, we will be playing intramural style of play. This will be gender-based with boys playing boys and girls playing girls. With all the teams that will need gym time, the boys and girls will be on separate days. The first week will be later in the evening so that the majority of the kids may attend.
With the boys’ group being so large in numbers, we will split them into 2 groups. If your child is in 6th grade they will practice 6:15 pm-7:15 pm. If your child is in 7th or 8th grade they will practice from 7:15-8:15. These practices will take place on Monday and Thursday this week.
The girls’ numbers are not as large so they will go as one group. They will practice on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00- 8:00.
MASKS WILL BE MANDATORY FOR ALL ATHLETES AND COACHING STAFF, EVEN WHILE PARTICIPATING. Parents will NOT be admitted until we start actual games. This is more of an “open gym” atmosphere just to get the kids back into the gymnasium.
