NOTES FROM THE LIBRARY

NOVEMBER 2004

Last year our big project was to weed the collection of outdated books and add hundreds of new titles that our students would want to read. The library also provided support to many teachers and students as they worked through many good projects.

This year, so far, thanks to the generosity of the town's citizens we have replaced our old "yard sale" tables with new four person oak tables that are much more suitable for student work. We have also added four new computers for student research and presentation development including student Power Point presentations with imbedded streaming video. To house the mini computer lab we now have we purchased adequate computer stations. We are looking like a proferssional LIbrary

We are continuing to add more resources, particularly in the fiction and nonfiction sections. So far this year we have checked out over six hundred books to support the curriculum, sustained silent reading and general recreation reading. Once again the citizen's a of the town have been generous in suppporting the library and have provided funding that allows us to continue to improve the collection. For a school this size to have a circulation one and one half the size of the student population is trully amazing.
