Our Curriculum

Reading- Scott Foresman Reading Street

This program incorporates a comprehensive approach to reading with a core reading book,

leveled reader books as well as spelling, grammar and writing which

is connected to each story.  Skills spiral throughout the book.

Mathematics- Everyday Math

This program uses a spiraling approach to mathematics which allows students to continually revisit

and practice skills and concepts.  Math games are an integral part of this program and provide a way

for students to practice skills at their level. Daily practice and reinforcement is very important in this program.

Social Studies-Our Nation

Fifth grade studies the history of the United States as well as important geography and map skills.

Science- Harcourt Science Text

Our focus is on physical, life and earth science.

Writing- Collin's Writing

We are using the Collins writing program in our classroom.  This program helps students

focus on specific skill areas to improve their writing.
