Homework Policies:
|
Students in recorder and band are expected to practice 3 to 5 times a week from anywhere between 10-30 minutes a day. I tell students to practice for 5 minutes between homework assignments to break up the time. Their practice log needs to be signed by a parent each week or 6-day rotation to get credit on practicing. |
Classroom Procedures:
|
Classroom Rules are as follows:
Mutual Respect between students and teacher Understand others feelings Safe Environment for students, teachers, and instruments Involvement in class (which assists in learning, since it’s a performance class) Cooperation
Students are graded on their effort, participation in class, ability to demonstrate the understanding of concepts and skills learned, their behavior (following rules), and the proper use of materials and equipment in the classroom.
For band and recorder students, I expect them to remember their instrument on the days of class and lessons. They are also expected to bring a pencil, their folder, book, and signed practice log to every class/lesson.
