2007-2008 School Year

News from Mrs. Bowker’s room

Our specials for this year are on a different schedule than previous years. We have a six-day schedule now, so specials will not always be on the same day. Our specials are as follows:

Day 1: PE           Day 4: Music

Day 2: Health               Day 5: Tech Lab

Day 3: Library              Day 6: Art

Homework: Homework folders are sent home on Mondays for the week. They are due back on Fridays. I know how busy schedules can be with work and after school activities. So you choose which nights are best for you and your child, or you may choose to have your child do the homework all in one night as long as it is all returned done on Friday. If your child finishes the homework early they may bring it in before Friday. There will usually be spelling and math for homework. We are beginning a new math program this year and I will be sending home parent letters often.

Friday folders: Friday folders are sent home on Fridays or on the last day of school for the week. On the cover of the Friday folder is a place for you to sign and comment if you need to. There will be notices and students finished work in the folders. This could be a wonderful time for you and your child to sit and share what we have been doing in school.

Snack: We have snack every afternoon around 2:00. Snack drinks are available to purchase through the school or your child may bring their own. I encourage students to try to bring in a healthy snack. No candy please.

I look forward to an exciting year with the children.
