|Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the children and dedicated staff members who lost their lives and with all parents and families who are coping with the tragedy that took place last Friday in Newtown Ct.
We would like to assure our students, families, and staffs that our schools are safe and secure. Today, we are meeting with our administration, local police and staff to evaluate our current security practices. We have worked diligently to have proper protocols in place insofar as controlled access to our schools during the day is concerned, and that we do have ready solid communication with our local police, fire, and emergency management personnel. Our goal is to make our school environment as safe as possible.
The events in Newtown, CT cut to the very core of our being because our lives are committed to doing what is best for children--and first and foremost, we are charged with protecting their health, welfare, and safety. I am confident that each of us involved in some phase of education in Hinsdale share that commitment and I am grateful to you for your help and support in this area.
Now is the time to remember the children and staff members--and their families--in Connecticut in our own thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your cooperation, collaboration, and assistance! Our collective strength and resolve is so important.
